This study draws the discipler to God as the ultimate “counselor” and the source of change in any life.
This study gives direction and guidelines for the discipler in determining their role in the discipling relationship.
This study explores a biblical approach to discipleship as well as defining what a true “disciple” is.
“Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” Rom. 14:19
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16, Col. 2:8
Very early in the discipling process, the disciple should forgive someone who offended him so that he experiences how his own act of obedience intersects with the grace and power of God.
“But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it – he will be blessed in what he does.” Jas. 1:25
Data gathering is an extremely vital element of discipling. The more information you can gather about your disciple, the better equipped you are to help him identify his problems and apply scriptural solutions to them.
“For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom. 5:6,8 NASB
When the wife is a controller of people and the husband is a controller of circumstances a role-reversal often takes place. This marriage will struggle as it is outside of God’s design for the roles of husbands and wives. This study gives specific suggestions on how to correct this problem and flip the roles back to God’s intended purpose.
